Erick Falc'her-Poyroux (since 1996)

EFP
I was born in 1964 in Nantes, Brittany, to a father from the Jura region and a Breton mother. Ireland has been my adopted country since the early 1980s.
After 8 years at the University of Rennes and 17 years at the University of Nantes, I have been a Professor at the University of Tours since September 2022.
The author of a PhD thesis on Irish music in 1996, I have translated or written several books on Ireland, as well as on the Beatles, and am regularly invited on regional or national media to discuss my passions.
I am the composer of a symphony for orchestra and Irish instruments, the producer and sound engineer of an Irish music CD (Diapason d'Or 1996), the author of a video documentary on Irish music in France and have collaborated with the national archives of French television (INA) for a web-documentary on Irish dancing.
An enthusiastic musician, I mainly play drums and guitar and my tastes are quite eclectic, from Bach to the Bothy Band via the Beatles and Bulgarian polyphonies.
